Use structural funds to finance the roll-out of high-speed networks

Indicator Status Evidence
Are you using structural funds to finance the roll-out of high-speed networks? Yes  Co-funding by Greece and the EU is scheduled through the Operational Program “Digital Convergence” for two of the investments plans that are part of the country’s broadband development roadmap.  Rural broadband Project: Co-funding through “Digital Convergence” OP for budget up to 200M€  MANs exploitation Project: Co-funding through “Digital Convergence” OP for budget up to 100M€.
Will you achieve full allocation of your ERDF funds allocated to broadband deployment by 2013? No As stated above, Structural Funds of around 300M€ are expected to be allocated to two major projects in the broadband development area. Along with direct funding of these projects, the competent authority for Digital Planning is funding a large number of e-government and state-aid projects that, through the stipulation of demand, are expected to further motivate and drive the development of broadband networks. For all that, it is not expected we will achieve full allocation by 2013.
