Are there targeted allocations of Structural Funds on ICT R&D? Yes Within the new European Community Support Framework entitled QREN – National Strategic Reference Framework (2007-2013), the Operational Programme Thematic Factors of Competitiveness (COMPETE) aims to improve the sustained competitiveness of the Portuguese economy in the context of the global market, intervening on dimensions considered strategic, such as innovation, scientific and technological development (including ICT), internationalization, entrepreneurship and modernization of public administration.
