They are the main Statutory Instrument which implements the EU Services Directive into UK law. A Department for Business Innovation and Skills screened a Primary Legislation in the UK and checked for compliance with the Services Directive 2007-2009.. Non compliant legislation has been amended. Has the Telecoms Framework been implemented? Yes Her Majestys Government has implemented the framework on time and we believe we have taken a sensible and pragmatic approach to implementing article 5 (3) of the e-privacy directive by giving industry a one year lead in before the national regulatory authority will begin to enforce the new law. Statutory Instruments were laid in Parliament at the beginning of May 2011 and the framework was implemented in full on the 26 May 2011 deadline.
Has the Audiovisual Media Services Directive been implemented? Yes Three Statutory Instruments have been introduced by UK government: • The Audiovisual Media Services Regulations 2009 (SI 2009/2979) • The Audiovisual Media Services Regulations 2010 (SI 2010/419) • The Communications Act 2003 (Disclosure of Information) Order 2010 (SI 2010/282) Those Statutory Instruments, alongside existing provisions in UK Law, have fully implemented the requirements set out in the audio visual media services regulations. http://www.culture.gov.uk/what_we_do/broadcasting/3173.aspx
