Member States to set up national alert platforms

Has the Member State set up a national alert platform? Yes Action Fraud is the UK’s national fraud reporting centre where citizens and businesses can report online fraud. You can report in various languages incl all the major EU ones and they take reports from abroad. The service is run by the National Fraud Authority – the government agency that helps to co-ordinate the fight against fraud in the UK. They work with partners in law enforcement - the National Fraud Intelligence Bureau, run by the City of London Police - to make sure fraud reports reach the right place http://actionfraud.org.uk/about-us/who-we-are Please note that the hotline for reporting online child pornography is run by the internet Watch Foundation and you will find information under vAction 40.
Does it serve as a one-stop-shop for the public who can play an active role in reporting illicit online activity? Yes Yes, here citizens and businesses from within the UK can report fraud using an online fraud reporting service any time of the day or night; the service enables both the reporting of fraud and find help and support. They also also provide help and advice over the phone through the Action Fraud contact centre. The hotline number, which puts them in touch with fraud specialists is 0300 123 2040. Reports taken are then passed to the police who may contact them for further information. Action Fraud does not investigate the cases and cannot advise on the progress of any cases.
Does it compile statistics on alerts, thus tracking the development of cybercrime at national level? Yes Yes - The hotline passes all the reports to various bodies incl the National Fraud Authority (NFA), an umbrella government organisation to co-ordinate and oversee the fight against fraud. •The City of London Police was named the National Lead Force for fraud, giving them responsibility for setting up a centre of excellence for fraud investigation across the UK. •National Fraud Intelligence Bureau (NFIB).
