Member States to promote long-term e-skills and digital literacy policies

Does an explicit strategy document exist? Yes Strategy for the Effective Implementation of ICT in Education and Science of the Republic of Bulgaria (2014-2020)
Is there funding for digital literacy/e-skills projects and programmes (including EU funding)? Yes Project "ICT in Education" funded by Operational Programme Human Resources Development . With funds from the State Budget and Operational Programme Human Resources Development in 2013, trainings for the key competence - Digital Competence have been funded, as well as trainings to acquire professional qualification for professions from the professional fields of Audio Visual Arts and Techniques; Production of Media Products; Computer Sciences; Applied Informatics and electronics; Automation, Communications and Computer Equipment. About 1900 persons are planned to be included in trainings with an ICT focus, funded by the State Budget in 2014.
Are there special programmes encouraging women, older workers ethnic minorities and other target groups to use ICT? Yes ICT-4-LLL project Target groups are supported on a horizontal basis.
Are there special programmes targeting employees (especially older workers and SMEs)? Yes Under the Operational Programme Human Resources Development 2007-2013 trainings on the key competence - Digital Competence are funded, as well as trainings to acquire professional qualification. Under the Operational Programme Human Resources Development 2014-2020 are to be funded activities in support of the equal access to opportunities of Lifelong Learning, including the field of information and communication technologies. A specific objective has been set out, in order to increase the numbers of employed persons working in sectors that are based on knowledge, high technologies and ICT, ecological economy.
Is ICT being integrated in classroom teaching and vocational training? Yes All schools have computer rooms and most of them use multimedia projectors. ICT have been partially integrated in classroom teaching and vocational learning – technological equipment in the schools is still a problem.
Are there programms offering ICT skills trainings in telecentres, public libraries and other informal environments? Yes There are programs that offer trainings for ICT skills in telecentres, public libraries and other informal environments.
