Member States to develop national broadband plans

Do you have a National Broadband Plan which specifies a set of measurable broadband targets or will you have such a plan in place before 31st December 2012? Yes There is a "Strategy of the Federal Council for an Information Society in Switzerland" including issues on broadband infastrucutre
Does the Plan meet the European Commission's Digital Agenda for Europe target for 100% broadband coverage by 2013? Yes There is no broadband plan in Switzerland, but according to the Universal Service Obligation a broadband connection of 1000/100 Kbps is available for everyone (http://www.bakom.admin.ch/dienstleistungen/faq/00732/02108/index.html?lang=en)
Does the Plan meet the European Commission's Digital Agenda for Europe target for 100% coverage over 30Mbps by 2020? Yes There is no broadband plan in Switzerland, but operators anounced a 95% VDSL-coverage until 2013
Does the Plan meet the European Commission's Digital Agenda for Europe target for 50% of households to have subscriptions over 100 Mbps by 2020? Yes There is no broadband plan in Switzerland, but we expect that 80% of Swiss Population will have access to a broadband connection over 100 Mbps (FTTH, FTTS, HFC)
Have supportive measures been introduced to support the achievement of National Broadband Plan targets? Yes There is a broadband guide for communal and regional governements (Only available in French, German and Italian) www.treslargebande.ch
