|Do you have a National Broadband Plan which specifies a set of measurable broadband targets or will you have such a plan in place before 31st December 2012?||Yes||The national broadband plan was published on January 2011 and is called the Digital Czech Republic. English version can be found here http://www.mpo.cz/dokument84962.html|
|Does the Plan meet the European Commission's Digital Agenda for Europe target for 100% broadband coverage by 2013?||Yes||One of the target of the Digital Czech Republic is to ensure by 2013 high-speed Internet access in all populated localities of the Czech Republic with a minimum transmission speed of at least 2Mbit/s (download) and in cities of at least 10 Mbit/s.|
|Does the Plan meet the European Commission's Digital Agenda for Europe target for 100% coverage over 30Mbps by 2020?||No||Not for the time being. One of the current goal is to ensure by 2015 high-speed Internet access in rural communities with a transmission speed of at least 50% of the average transmission speed achieved in cities. At the same time, 30% of households and businesses in cities should have access to connections with transmission speeds of at least 30 Mbit/s. Nevertheless the strategy is now under the revision (see next comment).|
|Does the Plan meet the European Commission's Digital Agenda for Europe target for 50% of households to have subscriptions over 100 Mbps by 2020?||-||The objectives of the national strategy are planned until 2015. However, the Ministry of Industry and Trade is preparing a revision of this strategy with the aim to determine the targets until 2020 and to meet the goals of the Digital agenda for Europe. This new strategy called "Digital Czech Republic 2" should be approved by the Government this autumn. If approved, this new strategy will meet the targets for 100% coverage over 30Mbit/s by 2020 as well as the target for 50% of households to have subscriptions over 100 Mbit/s by 2020.|
|Have supportive measures been introduced to support the achievement of National Broadband Plan targets?||Yes||From the planned measures, the following were already realised: elaboration of conditions for effective use of financial intruments from structural funds for the construction of electronic communications networks, elaboration of analysis of possibilities how to reduce charges for the use of radio frequencies, elaboration of development criteria for the allocation of radio frequencies in the band 790 – 862 MHz.
