Member States to promote long-term e-skills and digital literacy policies

Does an explicit strategy document exist? No Relevant information is included in the current Government Programme for the period of 2010-2014
Is there funding for digital literacy/e-skills projects and programmes (including EU funding)? Yes Finland is using e.g ESR funding to promote digital literacy and active citizenship skills. This action has been going on since 2007.
Are there special programmes encouraging women, older workers ethnic minorities and other target groups to use ICT? Yes ESR funding channeled to promote digital literacy and active citizenship skills. Federation for Technology Indusry has been promoting several initiatives to encourage women to enter technology related studies and work.
Are there special programmes targeting employees (especially older workers and SMEs)? No Implementation of more general programmes. They are not especially focused for older workers and SME's. Such target groups may participate into more general programmes.
Is ICT being integrated in classroom teaching and vocational training? Yes Integration of ICT in classroom teaching not yet full in place. More promising results can be expected from integration of ICT in school and out- of school learning. There are several National project funds available for designing innovative learning environments both for general and vocational training. The integration in classroom teaching is not occurring on daily bases.
Are there programms offering ICT skills trainings in telecentres, public libraries and other informal environments? Yes Public libraries have picked up the challenge of offer ICT skills training. National programmes to promote public library personnel training skills has been offered in several projects such as
