Does your legislation encourage interoperability between public administrations? Yes "Référentiel Général d’Interopérabilité" " guides the administrative authorities in the adoption of norms, standards and best practices, to promote the interoperability of their information systems.
Are you using open source software? Yes The use varies according to different ministries - from 0 to 100% (but the trend is towards open source), Linux is rarely used on desktop computers, average deployment of Open Office application is 50%, server software and MUA are also used but proprietary software use prevails (source: France response to the EC SAE questionnaire )
